Email Security Guide

The Three Pillars:
  • SPF - Lists authorized mail servers
  • DKIM - Cryptographic email signature
  • DMARC - Policy for failed authentication

Together, they prevent domain spoofing and improve email deliverability.

Adding SPF to DNS:
  1. Login to DNS provider
  2. Add TXT record
  3. Host: @ (root domain)
  4. Value: Your generated SPF record
  5. Save and wait for propagation
⚠️ Important: Only ONE SPF record per domain. Combine all sources with include:.

  1. Generate keys in DKIM tab
  2. Add public key to DNS as TXT record
  3. Add private key to mail server
  4. Test with email header checker

Rollout Strategy:
  1. p=none; pct=100 - Monitor for 2-4 weeks
  2. p=quarantine; pct=10 - Test on 10%
  3. p=quarantine; pct=100 - Full quarantine
  4. p=reject; pct=100 - Maximum protection
